Wonderfully Made

Wonderfully Made is a celebration of life and seeing the innate beauty of things in life. May it be a person, a created object, a thing of nature, or a simple life experience—seeing the beauty in things makes one feel grateful, and influence a positive outlook in life.

Haraya’s stylized flowers offer a radiant glow to feelings that are hard to put in words, but can be more personified as blooms. The florals, as if photographed in various positions of growth, suggest a stage in one’s life that may be considered a passing stage of growth or an awkward phase. The paintings, adorned with a lustrous fan behind each blossom, represent these momentary stages as a golden opportunity for self-growth—an often-overlooked ingredient that makes each person unique.

Jomike’s imaginative abstraction is inspired by worlds that encapsulate moments in a person’s experience, no matter how mundane. The centerpiece, titled Wonderfully Made, is a reflection of the peaceful feeling of snorkeling with his family and admiring the corals and sea life on a memorable vacation. Each of his other color-themed panels also describes a beautiful experience in the artist’s life that he aims to immortalize in the harmonious marriage of colors, forms, and lines reminiscent of his background as an architect.

Collectively, this duo show represents a life in full circle, having memories and life experiences that make each person who they are, and a reminder of how all beings—great or small–are wonderfully made.
